Lunch at The Farmer’s Mistress

I feel like I have absolutely exhausted good quality casual lunch destinations in zones 1,2 and 3… As with most fellow 26 year-olds in our lovely capital, a weekend catch up with the girls over a couple of cocktails is a given.

I have no qualms in admitting that I heard of The Farmers Mistress in Battersea on Made in Chelsea a few weeks ago, and the bright, scandi decor and ‘naturally naughty’ cuisine had me booking a table for the following weekend for me and my sister (and her dog, of course).

The Farmers Mistress is independently owned (we met Jo the owner and what a babe she is!), and you can absolutely tell that from the vibe the second you come through the door. It’s warm, welcoming and intimate, with every single corner of the place decorated to pristine perfection. It also meant that the mixologist was totally happy to go off piste with out drinks order and shook us up a bespoke cocktail based on what we fancied (although we did order two ‘Fizzy Mistresses’ off the menu and they were AMAZING – the perfect light day time drinks).

We arrived at around 3pm for a late lunch. It wasn’t too packed in there by that point but I’ve heard that brunch is usually rammed (booking advised!) We both ordered the Super Farmer Salad with extra Halloumi followed by a slice of the white chocolate, gluten free brownie with vegan ice cream and honeycomb. The perfect light, healthy and deliciously moorish lunch with a naughty little twist.

Two courses and several cocktails later, we were ready to walk a few minutes down the road to crash on my sister’s sofa for a boozy afternoon snooze.

Thanks for being you, Farmer’s Mistress! I’ll be returning very soon!

Our lunch at the Farmers Mistress was complimentary, but all views are my own
