Today marks my baby sister’s fourteenth birthday. She is the most hilarious, caring and gorgeous girl in the world, almost to the point that it’s hard to believe she’s cut from the same cloth as me and my other sister in all of our crude, crass glory. Her funny quips and almost instant comebacks have me and the rest of our family in stitches every day and all of this is means that by heart breaks that I wasn’t there for her at home this weekend. My hectic London schedule and ambition to build my little London Blogger universe meant that I missed waking up with her on her as she opened her presents as I had commitments over the weekend in our beautiful London town. I will, however, be going back home in the next few week’s to spoil her absolutely bloody rotten.
So today’s agenda went a little something like this: Morning shoot for a few paid collabs, lunch with the boy, event with Nivea in the afternoon and drinks with a few friends in the evening before retiring home to a tub of Ben and Jerry’s and several episodes of Dawson’s Creek.
Mine and my boyfriend’s schedules are becoming increasingly harder to coordinate. He isn’t a regular +1 to restaurant press bookings I attend due to the sheer fact that having to take photos for me in a busy room sends shudders down his spine, but in order to spend as much time as we want to together these days, press bookings are a necessary evil. Today’s lunch with my fine form of a man was at Kurobuta, Marble Arch to try out their ‘Dude Food Brunch‘ .
£45 per person for two hours of unlimited food and drink from the brunch menu which includes bao buns, shrimp tempura and maki rolls. The perfect boozy brunch if you’re looking for a place to get a little bit sloppy with your guys or girls!
With extremely full stomachs, we parted ways and I headed to Shoreditch to spend a few hours with my friend Izzi and Nivea to celebrate the launch of their new range of moisturising body mousses.
Nivea had decked out the quirky underground tunnels of Kachette as a festival of colour. Candyfloss, hot dogs, ball pit, hook-a-duck and a room full of London’s top influencers.
It’s safe to say that Nivea absolutely know how to throw a party. We spent a few hours making ourselves feel queasy on copious amounts of sweet treats and trailing the delicious new products (the raspberry and white tea is good enough to eat.. and if I wasn’t already stuffed on donuts and hotdogs I may well have!).
A sprint through the rain to Shoreditch House for a few glasses of rosé under the safety of the ‘sun’ umbrellas with a few of my best girls and that was my day over and out. Time for one hell of a long snooze 💤
