I don’t usually cover events I go to on the blog, instead reserving them mainly for Instagram stories. In fact, I’d say that bloggers generally don’t ever document them on their websites. But if I actually think about them, PR and brand events are some of the most interesting social events that I go to… You never know who else is going to be there, you’re always exploring a brand or product you’re not always familiar with and the venue is totally out of your control. Comfort zone wonderfully destroyed.
As I type this I’m enjoying a short time out of a day of event hopping and I’ve just now left five of the most lovely influencers and generally to human beings after spending the morning celebrating with Nocturne to celebrate their stunning SS18 collection.
Granted, I’m usually a minimalist when it comes to jewellery, but when I do want to bling it up a bit, the jewels I adorn need to hit the spot. Nocturne’s collections are rich with more or less every texture and colour that exists, blended intricately into each peace. A messy mishmash that TOTALLY works.
We all met by Spitalfields Market to spend an hour or so working up our appetites by getting snap happy whilst exploring all the gorgeous cobbled streets that weave through the area (by far my favourite in London). Chic shutters and doors in pink, purple, blue and yellow lit up by olde London street lamps and lined with vintage cars. Paradise.
We then hit up Blixen; a brasserie in the style of European grand cafes homed within a converted bank. Our table was in the ‘garden’ room at the back of the restaurant which was much more ‘day appropriate’ (especially when it’s so sunny outside!) than the brasserie. Bourne and Hollingsworth meets The Ivy.
A few cheering boomerangs with our (a-bloody-mazing) cocktails (you NEED to try the ‘Everyday Spritz’ if you go!) later and we had time to admire the gorgeous new collection. The brand focuses on keeping alive traditional Asian artisan techniques and make every item by hand which absolutely translates through the intricacy of each item – the detailing is meticulous.
Gorgeous company, food, conversation and jewels. Sometimes I can dread these sorts of events as you just don’t know which way they could go, but I couldn’t have asked for a better bunch of girls to kick off my Thursday with! One last look around Spitalfields Market (plus a final little munch from @yifangtea.uk and @babelle_uk) and here we are! Keep an eye on my stories for the rest of today’s action!
