Monday. A traditionally blue, bleak, unwanted and generally disparaging day of the week. My Monday usually consists of knuckling down at a client’s desk or catching up on emails from the weekend whilst desperately clutching at a large coffee, but this week I took one of my ‘blog days’ early, and instead took myself to the possibly the happiest cafe in London. Introducing, Palm Vaults 🌴
With my Hackney virgin of a friend in tow (she’s recently moved to London from Aus – give her a follow!), we nabbed a table within the foliage-filled interiors. Despite the barbie pink accessories, marble tables and exposed brick wall filling the quota for every Instagrammer in London, there was something so wonderfully un-try hard about this place. It was cool without being pretentious, minimalist but not obviously purposefully and filled with customers who weirdly weren’t just there for the likes.
Two lattes in-hand each (no joke – Monday got us, got us bad!) as two of the most b-e-a-utiful bowls of food that I’ve ever seen were placed in front of us. Smoothie bowls that looked like the sort of food I’d draw as a kid or try and make out of playdough. If you’re looking for a chilled venue to spend a few casual barbie-inspired hours whilst watching the craziness of London go by, put this place on your hit list.
