Imagine yourself in a yacht-inspired, elegant dining area indulging in the finest flavours of the Italian Riviera prepared for you especially by the Italian specialised chef Alessandro Verdenelli, yet you are still in London?!
Yes, you read that correctly, Chucs Restaurant has answered your prayers if you’re seeking the ambiance of a quiet, sophisticated indoor setting being surrounded by elegant Mediterranean interiors.
My friend and I visited Chucs last week on a drizzly Tuesday evening. Drawn in by the tonally rich interiors and warm, inviting lighting, it was set to be the perfect mid-week venue to pick up our spirits during a long, long dry January.
We had salads and a small grazing board to start (helloooo hearty chunks of parmesan) which I followed with a steak (ordered medium-well and done to perfection which I find very few places get right!!). Even more impressive than this, my friend was enduring ‘veganuary’ and they were more than happy to accommodate her by especially making her a vegan pizza when we weren’t wise enough to check if they had options to suit her on the menu beforehand (durrrr). If that’s not brilliant service I don’t know what is. For desert I had a classic Cannolos and Gelato Al Cioccolato (yes I said ‘I’ – Miss passing vegan was unable to partake!) and oh my WORD where have Cannolos been all my life?!
If you find yourself in the area you must pay this restaurant a visit, even if it’s just to have a nice afternoon coffee and cake to experience the luxury of the venue. You may even see my face around there as I made a promise to come back and try the highly recommended Champagne Cocktail, stupid dry Jan spoiling my fun!
