Fashion With Cause

Last week I had a shoot scheduled to show off my new favourite teddy coat. In the morning I was exploring Notting Hill and stumbled across an unassuming boutique shop called Kapara. I got chatting with the owner Daisy and she explained how the vast majority of her products are made by Indian artisans, giving back to a struggling community.

All the products were absolutely striking and unique – I couldn’t leave empty handed.

I bagged myself an amazing Evil Eye clutch with arm strap which (which I’ve actually used about four times in the past week already!) and an organic cotton ‘dream’ T. The bag is stunning, no question, however the t-shirt really pulled at the heart-strings. The collection has been made in collaboration with a charity based in Calcutta which offers employment and an opportunity for a new life to women trapped in Kolkata’s sex trade. Yep. those strings are feeling pretty darn taut, aren’t they.

Shop the look:

Boots | Charity T-Shirt | Bag | Jeans | Earrings

The coat is now sold out (wahhh!) and I’m not going to do that annoying ‘similar here’ thing when there’s actually never any resemblence…. but I’ll put out an alert once it’s back online!
